I’ve purchased several subscription boxes in the past of different types of products. They make a great gift and I love getting them in the mail as a present to myself because they’re always a surprise. Whoever invented this system was a genius! I’ve been a subscriber of many tea boxes in the past, so I wanted to share this best tea subscription box guide with some of my favorite ones.

If you’re looking to subscribe or looking to buy as a gift, I’m sure you’ll have a better idea of what you’ll want to get by the end of this post. Here is a list of what I consider the best tea subscription boxes listed in no particular order and some promo codes to give you a little treat and encourage you to try them!

DISCLAIMER: I’ve purchased most of the boxes below and gotten some as gifts. My reviews are based on my honest opinion and are meant for informative purposes. Please note there are some affiliate links, meaning I will get a small commission if you click through and make a purchase, without any extra cost to you. This will help support my blog and create new content!

1.- SIPS BY

Sipsby Tea Subscription box contents

This is a true tea discovery box. This company has partnered with many tea companies, big and small to provide tea lovers with a service that has a huge variety of teas and brands. Each month you’ll receive a box with 4 different types of tea from different brands, good for over 15 cups.
The uniqueness of Sips By is that you take a flavor profile and tea preferences quiz and their algorithm will select monthly teas for you. Each month you will receive a custom box with your name and tea selection. You can make requests such as not to have any tea bags, no green tea or any tea containing licorice, etc. and you can re-take the quiz as many times as you want. If your box contains loose leaf tea, you also get tea filter bags. The subscription gives you access to discount codes for most of the brand partners when making a purchase on each of their websites.

Who is it for? It’s for people who know exactly what they like and can narrow down their preferences, for people who know nothing about tea and would like to discover by trying a full variety of tea types, herbal teas, blends, etc. and for all the tea loving people in between.

Personal Note: I love this model because my tea mood varies between seasons, etc. and I can retake the preferences quiz every month if I want to and the teas in the box will adjust to my preferences. It is so versatile and the fact that you get different brands in the box makes it one of a kind since most tea subscriptions are from a single brand.

Monthly Price: $15 (shipping included in the US)

Promo Code: CACHAISIPS will get you $5 off your first box.

2.- TEABOX

Teabox tea subscription box

Teabox is a company specializing in Indian tea, sourcing directly from tea gardens delivering to consumers without middle men. They have beautiful packaging and brand image as well as great quality teas. You’ll get a monthly themed box with 5 different loose leaf teas with 1 oz each that are good for 60-75 cups. They have estate teas as well as blends and each tea pack has a full description including tasting notes, steeping guide and origin.

Who is it for? Tea lovers who like Indian teas and appreciate straight, unblended teas since most of their teas are not blends (although they do have lots of blends).

Personal Note: They have great quality teas and I really like their overall branding and packaging. This box contains a lot of tea, and it’s plenty for you to enjoy and share with friends. I also like their tea sample packs, especially their amazing selection of Darjeeling First Flush teas.

Monthly Price: $29.99 (including worldwide express shipping)

Promo Code: TEACLUB20 will get you 20% off your first box.

3.- ADAGIO

Adagio Tea subscription box

This company has a monthly subscription service with teas from their huge range. Adagio’s better tea club has 3 options to choose from, loose leaf, tea bags or iced teas pouches. Loose leaf club includes 3 samples good for making a total of 30 cups, tea bag option includes 2 samples with 8 tea bags each, and iced tea club includes 3 pouches good to make 3-quarter sized pitchers. Shipping is free for subscriptions, which is a great deal because if you’d like to buy 3 single loose leaf samples you’ll be charged for shipping.

Who is it for? It’s great for people who want to discover new teas and mostly blends but don’t want to commit buying larger quantities. I don’t think it’s the best option for ‘tea snobs’ but it’s definitely good for tea lovers and newbies.

Personal Note: I’d definitely recommend the loose leaf option because you get the most amount of cups from it and you can always make iced tea from loose leaf anyway. If you’re new to loose leaf tea, get a simple tea strainer and you’re good to go. It’s a great deal for the price and you get a decent amount of tea.

Monthly Price: $6.99 (shipping included in the US)

4.- BIRD AND BLEND

Bird and Blend Tea Subscription Box

UK based company that has a fun approach to tea. They call themselves mixologists and create unique blends. They have several options to choose from, the standard tea club includes tea from their full range, plus limited editions and early releases and they promise you’ll never get a repeat!
The decaf tea club is for those who prefer herbal teas and decaf, the vegan tea club will accommodate to your vegan preferences and the allergy tea club caters for the 14 main allergens (although all teas are packed in an environment that contains nuts). Each box contains 3 different samples of 20g. good for 30 cups total and tea club members are the first to receive new blends, even before they’re launched. You will also get a welcome gift.

Who is it for? People who love tea blends! This brand is all about mixing ingredients, fruit, flowers, herbs, etc. so you’ll always get some fun and flavorful tea.

Personal Note: I love the spirit of Bird and Blend (and I’m a Rep!), it’s a small independent company and the owners are very close to their customers. They’re always creating and testing new, fun blends that appeal to many and value their customer’s opinions.

Monthly Price: $9.90 + $6.80 for shipping to the US and rest of the world.

Promo Code: CACHAITEABIRD39 will get you 20% off your first order/subscription box.

5.- DOLLAR TEA CLUB

Dollar Tea Club Subscription

Subscription based Canadian tea company that focuses on fair trade. They purchase through direct trade and guarantee quality and consistency while ensuring fair trade practices are being carried out. Dollar Tea Club focuses on subscriptions, where you can get the basic dollar one that includes 3 small samples, or you can get more tea by getting a grand explorer subscription or even building your own box.
They have over 30 varieties (and adding) and most of them are blends. With the basic Explorer plan you’ll get 3 samples and tea filters, good to make 6-8 cups. All the information is on each package describing tea type, steeping guide and detailed list of ingredients. They have a referral program where you and your friend get $1 off if they order.

Who is it for? The Explorer $1 plan is great for people who enjoy tea but are not heavy tea drinkers or ‘tea snobs’. It makes the perfect budget gift (3 month subscription for under $15, including shipping).

Personal Note: I don’t think it’s a subscription focused on heavy, experienced tea drinkers who appreciate quality and estate teas. That said, any other tea lover or tea newbie will probably like this option because of their blends and price. You can purchase 1 cup of tea at David’s for what you’ll pay for this subscription. I love it as a gift for a friend.

Monthly Price Starts at: $1 + $3 for shipping to US and Canada

Promo Code: REFCAAQAJ7814 will get you $1 off your first order (and will get a few cups of tea for me too!)

6.- THE TEA SPOT

The Tea Spot Subscription Box

This company’s mission is to ‘foster health and wellness through tea, The Tea Spot donates ten percent of all sales in-kind to cancer and community wellness programs’. This Colorado based company who hand blends their teas, focuses on making fresh, premium flavor teas as well as being eco-friendly and socially responsible. They are dedicated to promoting fair labor wherever The Tea Spot’s products are made.
They offer loose leaf tea, tea sachets of loose leaf quality tea, and teaware. Most of their offering are blends and each monthly shipment includes four loose leaf teas distinctly paired with the current season (good for about 20 cups). The first box includes a steeper to get you started with loose leaf tea.

Who is it for? Tea lovers who enjoy good tea and care for products that are fair trade. The Tea Spot’s range combines blends and straight teas as well as lots of herbal options.

Personal Note: I have a few favorites from this brand, I love Meditative Mind and Turmeric Tonic, and Bolder Breakfast as a latte. If you prefer “tea bags”, this brand is definitely a go-to, it has great quality individual sachets.

Monthly Price: $14.95 (Free shipping within the continental US)

Promo Code: TEACACHAI3FREE will give you 3 extra samples to add on your first box.

7.- SIMPLE LOOSE LEAF TEA

Simple Loose Leaf Tea Subscription Box

Tea discovery service that sources tea from tea farms all over the world. One of the lowest priced options on the market, they feature a wide range of teas and really focus on providing a higher end tea offering. They work with a local developmental workplace that provides employment to members of their local community that have developmental disabilities, which handles their tea packaging, tea boxing, and shipping.
They offer a single plan where you can choose from classic/sampler box, herbal/decaf, green or black tea and will receive 4 different 10 grs. loose leaf pouches good for 20-30 cups. The first box is always the same for anyone that receives the Classic/Sampler Box. They’ve done this as it gives the customer a very specific experience with teas that they have likely never had before.

Who is it for? Tea lovers that want to start getting into loose leaf teas.

Personal Note: I really like that you can choose your tea type for this subscription, especially for people who like herbals/low caffeine teas or only green tea, not many subscription boxes out there let you narrow down the type of teas you’d like to receive.

Monthly Price: $9 + $2.99 for shipping

Promo Code: Get $3 off your first order with code 3OFFBOX1

Instagram post 2198231464951277939_5362177807 One of my favorite things to gift are tea subscriptions, and @tea.sparrow has a very special one! 🎁⁣
⁣
They taste dozens of teas 🌱 a month and choose the blends that inspire them the most 💫, all made with natural ingredients and flavors. ⁣
⁣
In this month’s box I got a Raspberry Vanilla Rooibos blend that quickly became a favorite for the family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. My kids are obsessed with it (they’re 4 and almost 3!). They like it hot with a bit of maple sugar and I drink it cold brewed. ⁣
⁣
With the subscription, you’ll get 4 great quality teas every month, blends and single estate teas. They also have different options to choose from (caffeinated box, original box, herbal box and tea bags).⁣
⁣
For anyone who likes tea and loves to discover new blends, this subscription is for you! You still have time to get a gift certificate and give the gift of tea to someone special 💞. #ad⁣

⁣
Let’s talk about sifting. Some people might think this is an unnecessary extra step but TRUST me it make a difference. Sifting Matcha prevents clumps to form and makes a creamier, frothier Matcha.⁣
Personally, I struggle with food texture sometimes, and Matcha clumps throw me completely off!⁣
⁣
Do you sift your Matcha?💚🍵

Instagram post 2191131099659443993_5362177807 🍁AUTUMN MINDFULNESS🍁⁣
Before all the leaves turn orange, yellow and brown and fall from the trees, I take a moment to appreciate all the colors in nature, and be mindful. ⁣
Go outside, and if you connect really well, you can also smell Fall, kind of leafy, different than the grassy aroma of spring. Also, feel the temperature in your hands and think of how this makes you feel. ⁣
⁣
Now go back inside and make some tea. Repeat the process. Look at the colors of the tea leaves, the color of the infusion, smell the dry leaves, then the wet leaves and the infused tea. Feel the warmth of the tea cup in your hands and the liquid inside your mouth and as it goes down your throat. Taste the tea and taste it again. ⁣
⁣
Tea & meditation is a thing! I was really inspired by one of @beingtea ‘s workshops last weekend. If you can’t be present for one, she does tea meditation sessions online through her Patreon.
Instagram post 2187974917256080406_5362177807 Have you ever tried a spiked chai? Some people like to add Rum or Bourbon to their Masala Chai for a twist, but I found THE best option for a spiked Chai! ⁣
@enjoysomrus has a Chai cream liqueur that makes the perfect one. ⁣
⁣
Here’s how to do it:⁣
- 3 parts of brewed Masala Chai loose leaf blend (use water only).⁣
- 1 part of Chai cream liquor (this will replace the milk in the Masala Chai and add a fun twist to it).⁣
⁣
If you love Masala Chai, this is a great cream liqueur to try and gift. There are so many recipes on the Somrus website that I can’t wait to try! ⁣

This Hojicha yoghurt cake is a favorite and will be the star for tea time! (Recipe: link in bio)⁣
💡Although I prefer this one with Hojicha powder, if you don’t have any you can also replace with Matcha!
Instagram post 2185013840159242873_5362177807 ✨NEW POST - Pistachio Matcha Latte Recipe✨ (link in bio)⁣
🍵For this #matchamonday I wanted to share this crazy good Matcha latte recipe with homemade pistachio milk. It’s really easy to make and soooooo delicious. The umami in Matcha complements beautifully with pistachio flavor.⁣
⁣
💡If I ever open a tea shop, please remind me to add this on the menu, it would be a best seller!⁣

Have you tried pistachio milk?
Instagram post 2181410137581874775_5362177807 Da Yu Ling is one of Taiwan’s most prized teas. It is grown at an altitude of over 2500 meters in one of the highest plantations of the word. This high mountain Oolong is creamy, floral and has some vegetable notes, it has light-medium body and a lingering floral aftertaste. So special and complex...⁣
⁣
Da Yu Ling Oolong has a characteristic (positively) intoxicating aroma that’s hard to describe... something between floral/asparagus/cooked greens/eggy/marine. Can’t put the exact words on it. Anybody else here with me? ⁣
⁣
Taiwanese Oolong aroma might be one of my favorite things ever! Is there an aroma that ‘positively intoxicates’ you?
Instagram post 2177297539630599720_5362177807 When I’m craving Chinese green teas, I go for the for delicate ones.⁣
🌷Delicate teas deserve delicate and beautiful teaware too!⁣
⁣
This lovely Lu An Gua Pian from @mastersteas is such a delicate tea. Grassy and a bit vegetal with a sliiiight toastiness. It has a light, smooth texture with a bright finish.⁣
🌱The leaves are quite big, loosely twisted, with a light and dark green coloring which fully unfurl after brewing.⁣
⁣
🤔Do you sometimes pair teas with certain teaware?
Instagram post 2170557186365899101_5362177807 ✨NEW POST - I hosted a virtual tea party with some tea blogger friends and I was in charge of the tea sandwiches. We all made recipes for the party and we created a lovely menu with English scones, mini pecan pies and mini apple cider donuts.⁣
I made 2 recipes for tea sandwiches: Chicken roasted red pepper & Lapsang Souchong, walnut and vegan cream cheese. The first is a traditional Chilean sandwich and the second was developed especially for this party and thinking of pleasing more people. ⁣
⁣
Check out the post about the tea party, recipes and links for the full menu (link in bio). ⁣
Thanks for joining me @teaaholic , @teathoughts and @pinchmeimeating !⁣

And since I made the tea sandwiches, I wonder what’s YOUR favorite tea sandwich?
